Halo 3 & Linkin Park
Posted by
Energy on 14 Aug 2007 02:39 pm
Ok i'm a games nut, and Halo 3 has got me quite excited. I've enjoyed the story line so far, the halo 3 beta had me clocking up around 160 games, and just generally it's a great way to kick back and relax for a few hours. Considering I'm ill that's what I need at the moment!
Anyway, my copy is preordered and I'm looking forward to playing through the game on co-op with my mate on launch; however I was reading through an article that is talking about all the promotion (and we know halo 3 is being shown off a lot at Projekt Revolution).
Of course, Microsoft itself will pony up tens of millions of dollars on ads to push the game, and it has plans to air original programming on cable networks that target young males.
Programming, to air a week before "Halo 3" bows, will revolve around the making of the game, and the game's soundtrack; it will feature "Halo"-obsessed celebs and musicians, such as bands Linkin Park and My Chemical Romance, playing the game. "Halo 3" is the official sponsor of the Projekt Revolution music tour featuring those bands. Just a lil bit of info, so there'll be some Linkin - Halo clips around the launch.

LP mashup time

Energy on 14 Aug 2007 02:29 pm
If you go to this site
LPConcerts.com, you get to mix either a load of LP tracks together or some HIM, or taking back sunday. While it's not the smoothest remix comp I've seen, it's amazing to hear some of those classic LP tracks deconstructed.
The prize is a trip to London in 2008 to go see LP live. (so confirmed our date there then!) Not suprisingly it's once again only open to US residents. Anyone can have fun with mixing though, and I'd love to see your best mixes posted in the comments section. Have fun....
oh and for people who like to play with 'flash' files... The rules state that there was a my chemical romance track also in the comp. This is actually still there, just not avaible. Hint: lpmcr1.swf It has different samples of ITE in ;)
Just a random article...

So every day I wake up and check my gmail and I tend to have around 9 news alerts about Linkin Park in my inbox. Most of them say the same thing. Sometimes you find a bit of interesting news but mostly they are just random articles from around the world. So I decided to give you guys the link to this one just because it made me smile this morning!
Check out the article
here. It's just an article about Projekt Rev, but it starts by asking "How is Linkin Park selling albums in a down market? How did the group flip 635,000 records during the first week of sales if everybody is downloading music for free off the Internet?"
This made me smile!

I'm glad linkin park is making people ask this sort of question!!
So what do you guys think? Is it because LP fans are so loyal? Is it hype? Leave comments!
Australian Tour (sorry! Old news!) and Brad interview

Jaxxy on 05 Aug 2007 07:08 am
I just realised the Australian tour dates haven't been put up here! Not that you don't already know but LP will be playing on these dates, in these places:
14.10.07 - Melbourne - Rod Laver Arena
16.10.07 - Adelaide - Adelaide Entertainment Centre
18.10.07 - Perth - Burswood Dome
20.10.07 - Sydney - Sydney Entertainment Centre
22.10.07 - Brisbane - Brisbane Entertainment Centre
Check out the
LPU for information about presales for these shows!
Here is an article I found demonstrating Brad's lack of ability to speak Australian! He'd better brush up on his linguistic skills before October!

Styles of Beyond PR Update
Posted by
Energy on 31 Jul 2007 04:00 pm
Thanks once again to Jay (sorry Jay for not posting sooner I was away for the weekend), however he says:
Just a note about SOB, there's been a little change in their Projekt Revolution appearences.
Due to the fact that they couldn't get samples cleared on two of the tracks on Rocket Surgery, they are currently in the studio recording two new replacement tracks. Now, because they had to go into the studio again, they are not going to be able to make any of the West Coast Projekt Revolution shows, but they will make their PR apprearences, starting on August 10th. They chose to record two new tracks, instead of waiting until after PR to clear the two samples, because that would have pushed the album back even more.
Now, in their absence, they have been playing several tracks from Razor Tag, in between sets. This includes a new track called 'Kill Em In The Face', which was originally a name S.O.B. were considering for the name of the Mixtape (but they obviously chose Razor Tag instead).

LP shows in high quality?

LP's recent news letter says:
LIVE LINKIN PARK CDS AVAILABLE AT PROJEKT REVOLUTION
No more listening to distorted, bootleg copies of LP concerts... get a clear, mixed copy of your Linkin Park show at the merchandise booth!
Visit the merchandise booth at any Linkin Park tour date (starting with Projekt Revolution 2007) to purchase a limited-edition recording of the entire LIVE Linkin Park performance from that night. Only 1000 copies will be sold for each show date, so be sure to get yours before they're gone.
Things to notice; Only 1000cds at each show, and that this seems to be for the long run and not just for PR.
To be honest this is great news, many bands have already done this and it works well. It was known that LP record nearly all their sets (if not all) so releasing them to the fans who want to hear the show, which is what bootlegging is about, is the next logical step. Everyone wants a memory of a great event, and this is perfect.
Maybe LP should consider the Metallica root and once the show is done they can throw it up on a site where you can purchase the show in mp3 or flac?

Linkin Park will play at Auckland's Vector Arena on October 12th! The new arena is attracting lots of big acts like Fall Out Boy and Guns 'N Roses! I hope everyone who manages to go has an awesome time! Take lots of pictures! (I know it's not till October but plan ahead people!) Do you think LPU will manage to sort out a pre-sale?

Sorry for the slight hacking issue we had. Strangely enough someone stumbled across one of our archived files (from long ago). My coding has improved greatly since then, however there was an issue with the coding in this backup that gave someone control. I should of locked the back-ups, so it's my own fault. Got enough issues for the now though without chasing people online.
Let's get back to the LP

3 Projekt Revolution Setlists
Posted by
nkramar on 24 Jul 2007 01:29 am
A new video has been added to the LP/PR media player (viewable at LP.com as well as some other fansites) that confirms a varying setlist, among other things, as Projekt Revolution opens this week with shows in Auburn, WA, Marysville, CA and San Bernadino, CA.
Setlist A: Opens with One Step Closer, ends with Faint
Setlist B: Opens with Wake, ends with Bleed It Out
Setlist C: Opens with No More Sorrow, ends with Faint
Will we get a taste of all three sets by this weekend? Only time will tell.
It appears that Hands Held High was rehearsed and appears ready to be played live... With Phoenix on harmony vocals and Brad on the keyboard. (Unconfirmed to be played live like this, but that's what the video shows).
Question time...

As per normal Channel 4, here in the uk is doing random music video premieres. If you tune in at midnight on the 4th August you'll be presented with the supposed world premiere of LP's Bleed It Out video.
Sometimes videos do make apperances before, but it should be cool...I'm sure it'll be filling up all the internet tubes soon after then.
